NEW JR. NBA REGIONS IN OWQLO INCLUDE AFRICA AND INDIA!
The Jr. NBA continues to expand its horizons and the number of regions included on OWQLO, the official Jr. NBA League app in EMEA and India. Starting in February, Africa and India will be the newest regions to digitize their programs on OWQLO.
In Africa, the Jr. NBA League program is being replicated in two new South African cities: Cape Town and Durban. The program will impact thousands of young players and will culminate in a finals event for all the Jr. NBA Leagues across South Africa (Johannesburg and Royal Bafokeng). In Addition, a new training program called Jr. NBA All Girls Clinic — Senegal will be implemented. NBA Africa is committed to encouraging and empowering girls and women to access more opportunities to play and be involved in the basketball ecosystem. The All Girls Clinic initiative is in partnership with Her Time to Play and aims to inspire girls to play the game and develop coaches. The clinic will target 100 girls and take them through high level basketball instructions and life skills sessions focusing on mental health. The clinic will take place in Thies on Feb. 13–14.
NBA India, in association with the Reliance Foundation (RF), will launch the 2022 RF Jr. NBA program online through OWQLO this year! Programs will include 26 live sessions, will be launched in mid-February and continue on throughout the year. The Jr. NBA Coaches Academy and Jr. NBA Coach Clinic programs are designed for both beginners and advanced level coaches and PE teachers to implement the Jr. NBA curriculum into their virtual or in-person training sessions. Jr. NBA Clinics — Online will feature guests from the NBA and WNBA family.
